About Wheelwright Lumber Co.
Since 1908, Wheelwright Lumberyard in Ogden, Utah, has been a cornerstone for contractors and the public alike, now serving its 4th and 5th generations. Spanning 13 acres, this full-service lumberyard includes a retail store stocked with everything you need to complete your project, from quality lumber and hardware to custom doors and paints.

With experienced staff available, Wheelwright Lumberyard is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturday from 7:30 AM to noon. Their large fleet of trucks, both big and small, ensures efficient delivery across the Wasatch Front, handling both large and small orders with ease.
Our History
1890
Thomas B. and George M. Wheelwright open a second-hand store in Ogden, Utah. The store sells anything that is resalable. It also provides gun repair, locksmith and basic handyman services to the area.
1907
A sawmill is built on the current property between 24th and 25th on Quincy Avenue. At the time, it is considered the outskirts of town. Before long, the demand for precut lumber exceeds the production ability of the mill.
1984
Hal W. Wheelwright becomes President and his son, Paul, the Vice President. A long-time employee, Gwen A. Skiby, is named treasurer.
2004
Due to increasing business and to better serve our customers, Wheelwright Lumber Co. relocates to their brand new facility at 3127 S. Midland Dr. The 6.5 acre property contains a larger store and door shop with 10,000 sq ft. each, a warehouse with 20,000 sq ft., and a rail spur to bring in quality lumber products by the carload for savings to our customers.

The business changes its name to Wheelwright Brothers Mercantile Co. Inventory is expanded to include new stove, hardware and crockery.
1907

Paul Wheelwright takes over as President and Hal Wheelwright becomes Vice President. Gwen A. Skiby remains treasurer.
2004
